I was born and raised in The Gambia, affectionately known as the Smiling Coast of West Africa proudly crowned Jollof Rice Champions at the 2025 West Africa Food Festival in Accra.
Growing up, I watched my mother cook with instinct, passion, and love — transforming simple ingredients into meals rich in comfort and culture.
I moved to the United Kingdom at 17. For over 18 years, this country has been my home.
As a military spouse and mother of three, I have witnessed firsthand the cultural and nutritional challenges faced by service personnel — particularly those from Commonwealth countries adapting to unfamiliar food environments.
With a professional background in healthcare, I understand the vital link between nutrition, emotional wellbeing, and identity.
